BFA Awards 'Brand Builder' Prize
The British Franchise Association (BFA) Franchisor of the Year Awards has seen Sumo Services named Brand Builder of the Year.
The British Franchise Association (BFA) Franchisor of the Year Awards has seen Sumo Services named Brand Builder of the Year.
/Franchise PR News/ - DUBLIN, IRELAND, June 03, 2006 - Scooping the accolade the first time the company had entered the competition, Sumo beat off competition in the category from Antal International Network, Greenthumb UK, and VIP Bin Cleaning franchises.
Accepting the prize, the company's managing director, Mike Bushell, put the firm's success down to investing "heavily in marketing and that has provided us with real business growth and a platform on which to further our expansion plans".
He added: "We have also built an excellent relationship with our franchisees, and needless to say they were absolutely delighted to hear that we had won the Brand Builder award."
Sumo Services, which specialises in utility detection and mapping services for the construction sector, was founded in 2002 and has grown to 13 franchises since then.
The company's success, which has a predicted business franchise network turnover expected to be 2 million for the year, can be attributed to a commitment to the maintenance of the brand's integrity along with a drive to be technological pioneers.
Express Newspapers' Yvette Taylor, who presented the award, said that what had swung it for the judges was Sumo's "highly focused and professional approach to building a brand from the outset".
